SPIN Database

In an effort to assist faculty and staff in finding potential sources of funding for research, projects, programs and fellowships, the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs has contracted for a database search engine, SPIN. We are certain you will find this a valuable tool in your search for funding support.

SPIN is a comprehensive web-based system used by many universities, comprised of two product modules:

  • A database of funding opportunities
  • A funding email alert service

These products work together to ensure that you are quickly and efficiently able to locate the most current funding opportunities in your fields of interest.

To access SPINPlus go to the SPIN Database login page and create a profile

You may set up the system to receive funding announcements matching your research interests through daily emails, or at other intervals. It is recommended that you narrow your fields of interest as much as possible to avoid receiving an extensive amount of funding announcements.

Once you have set up your profile and preferences, you will not have any need to access SPIN any further, unless you would like to change your information or search to a different area of interest. You will continue to receive emails of grant opportunities at the intervals you have chosen.
