The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program is an online training designed to educate faculty and students about issues involving research integrity. The program was founded in March 2000 as a collaboration between the University of Miami and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The goal of the course is to educate researchers about responsible research conduct inside and outside of the laboratory. The design and implementation of the program was funded by the Office of Research Integrity, Department of Health and Human Services.
Kean University is an affiliated institution with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. CITI provides a comprehensive basic course in the responsible conduct of research for faculty, students, and staff. CITI offers six discipline-specific RCR courses to choose from: Biomedical Research, Social and Behavioral Research, Physical Science, Humanities, Engineering, and a course specifically for administrators. Choose only the course that fits your regulatory need. Complete only one. You do not have to complete all of the modules at one sitting. You can log out, return, and complete them at your own pace. A certificate is available for users to print/save upon completion. CITI allows the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to access training records to verify completion of training.
