I want to apply for a grant. What should I do?
If you are not responding to a funding opportunity announcement, you should discuss your idea with your Chair and your Dean. Then complete the Grant Concept Form, obtain the signature of your Dean and submit the form to ORSP. We will schedule an appointment to discuss your proposal and begin a search for funding.

I found a funding agency that has an online application process. Can I submit an application myself?
No. It is University policy that faculty or staff cannot apply for grants or any type of external funding without prior authorization from ORSP.
I am adjunct faculty and would like to apply for a grant. What should I do?
Part-time faculty must partner with a full-time member of the University community to apply for external funding.
I have a good contact at a corporation that I think would be willing to support my research with students. Can I send her a letter and see what she says?
No member of the University community is authorized to solicit funding from foundations or corporations, formally or informally, or to use University stationery without the prior knowledge of and authorization from the Director of ORSP.
I want to set up partnership with a school district or other outside entity where Kean is providing a service. Do I have to contact ORSP?
Yes. ORSP must be contacted to draft and finalize an agreement including the budget. The agreement must then be signed by the Vice President of Research.
I have a grant and I want to establish a cost center. What should I do?
Cost centers must be established through ORSP. Please contact Brenda Dunlop.
